Active in his professional community, Dr. Mendelsohn has been involved with the Broward County Medical Association, was a past president of Florida Society of Ophthalmology and was treasurer of the Florida Medical Association’s Political Action Committee.
Studying at Northwestern University, Alan Mendelsohn was president of his medical school class for three years and in the 1980s was chief resident with Northwestern University’s ophthalmology program.
